Expanding Career Options

High-quality career information is vital for women's advancement. Women Employed responds to women's dreams of a better future by providing the programs and information women need to set career goals, gain more skills, and realize their potential.

Women need to earn enough to support their families. They need jobs that offer career paths. Yet women are too often clustered in jobs that don't pay good wages or offer advancement opportunities. Women Employed is committed to expanding opportunities and providing career information directly to women.

For 20 years, Women Employed provided career development and job placement services to women. We have taken this experience and fashioned cutting-edge programs that women can access over the Internet. Career Coach is a current example of Women Employed's commitment to expanding career options for women earning low wages.

Through the Clear Connections Project, Women Employed also works with colleges to make sure low-income working students get the educational support, including early, comprehensive career development assistance, they need to complete a degree leading to increased wages.

Women Employed has created a new curriculum, Strategies for Success in Career Development: The Career Coach Curriculum Guide, to help community organizations, community colleges, and adult-education programs use Career Coach to guide individuals they work with in choosing the right career.
