Overview

Many people mistakenly think that after decades of progress, most women are earning good salaries in professional jobs. The truth is nearly 40 percent of women still work in jobs with low pay, unpredictable work schedules, meager benefits, and little opportunity for advancement.

As a leading advocate for improving women's economic status, Women Employed focuses on three primary areas:

  • Women need fair workplaces that are free from discrimination and accommodate family responsibilities.

If we work together to address these issues, we can make life better for women throughout the U.S. Join Women Employed's Action Network to learn more about our current efforts to ensure fair workplaces and improve women's opportunities for advancement. We know that the benefits of expanding opportunities for women extend far beyond a bigger paycheck. When women do better economically, their families and communities benefit as well.
