Making Workplaces Fairer
Educating Consumers

Following our 2007 holiday card campaign, Working Women for Change encouraged women to shop their values by:

  • Patronizing stores and companies that offer paid sick time and other benefits to hourly workers;
  • Talking to their corporate travel planners about staying at hotels that have fair policies for their hourly workers;
  • Making sure their own company's sick time policy applies to all workers.

Now, we are compiling information on company best practices for hourly workers in retail, hospitality and other important sectors of the Chicago economy.

Check back soon for information to help you make informed decisions about where to spend your money and to provide you with information so that you can influence your company's purchasing decisions to favor businesses with fair policies for hourly workers.
