WE Can Do It!

A Party With a Purpose

Advocates and supporters joined Women Employed for an evening of community, connections, and change.  Teams tested their knowledge of women's trivia while learning more about Women Employed and our issues.  See event pictures.

More than 75% of the attendees took a survey, and they made it clear that there is still work to be done, but almost 90% think we will see progress during President Obama’s term.  Their priorities for issues that President Obama should tackle include:

  • Expanding family-friendly policies like paid leave, fair scheduling, and flex time (41%)
  • Making college more affordable (39%)
  • Investing in training programs that lead to jobs with good wages and benefits (36%)

WE Can Do It! was hosted by Women Employed's Advocacy Council, which works to mobilize the next generation of women leaders and help them become advocates for working women’s issues.
